The Sunflower Autism Consultancy was founded in 2019 by Clinical Director Julia Gudinchet to provide expert professional diagnosis and support to autistic children aged 1 to 18 years, and their parents.

Julia is a specialist autism consultant with more than 13 years experience working with children on the autism spectrum. Julia holds a Masters in Autism Studies from The University of Kent, Tizard Centre, and is currently pursuing accreditation to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) at the Florida Institute of Technology.

Julia has experience working in mainstream schools, Special Needs schools, supported living facilities, as well as supporting children and their families at home.

Her specialist areas include supporting children and their families with challenging behaviour, and supporting children to overcome difficulties with communication, independent living skills and learning. Julia does this by training families to learn the techniques and strategies to cope with autism through the use of evidence based methods. These include: Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Verbal Behaviour Therapy (VBT), and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

Using these techniques, Julia has helped many families overcome the obstacles of living with autism and has helped support many children with autism to integrate into mainstream schools.

Julia works with children with or without a diagnosis and can offer advice and support through this process.

Julia has a full, clean DBS enhanced certificate and has the ‘update service’ to allow online checks, with consent. She also holds a certificate in safeguarding training from the NSPCC and is a member of The National Autistic Society.

Julia lived and worked in Switzerland for 6 years and is fluent in french and can therefore offer services to French speaking families.
